Bucking Rider Review

Released on 29th April 2025, Bucking Rider is the second release in Play'n GO's CrashBack™ series. The game replaces reels with a Wild West bull ride, asking players to collect a rising multiplier before the animal throws its rider.

A successful manual cash-out does not always have to end the ride. CrashBack can provide a limited opportunity to place another wager and re-enter the same active round at its higher multiplier.

Bucking Rider has an RTP of 96.7%, high volatility and a maximum multiplier of 5,000x. Auto Play and Auto Cash Out are available alongside the re-entry mechanic.

How to play Bucking Rider

The multiplier begins at 1.00x and increases while the rider remains on the bull. The round finishes when the player collects or the rider is thrown.

  1. Choose the stake: Select the amount to place on the approaching bull ride.

  2. Configure Auto Cash Out: Enter a target multiplier if you want the wager to be collected automatically.

  3. Start the ride: Confirm the bet and watch the multiplier begin rising from 1.00x.

  4. Follow the rider: The bull continues bucking as the multiplier increases. The eventual stopping value is generated randomly.

  5. Cash out: Press the collection button while the rider remains seated to receive the stake multiplied by the displayed value.

  6. Use CrashBack™ if available: A qualifying manual cash-out below 25x can open a short period in which the player may buy back into the same ride.

  7. Watch for the final buck: Any active wager loses when the rider is thrown from the bull.

CrashBack remains accessible for five multiplier points beyond the original exit. A cash-out at 8x would therefore leave the option available until 13x, provided the bull has not ended the round.

The cost of returning is calculated from the difference between the multiplier reached at the first cash-out and the value shown when the player rejoins. Allowing the ride to continue before selecting CrashBack increases that additional wager.

Re-entering does not send the multiplier back to 1.00x. The player returns at the live value and faces the same randomly generated stopping point as the rest of the round.

Auto Play repeats wagers according to the settings selected before the ride. Auto Cash Out can apply a consistent exit target, although the CrashBack opportunity is connected to eligible manual collection.

A history display records previous stopping multipliers. These results show where earlier riders were thrown without supplying information about the next round.

Bucking Rider - Design

Bucking Rider confirms that Play'n GO is setting the visual standard for crash games. Its dusty rodeo arena feels every bit as carefully constructed as the worlds found in the studio's best-known slots.

A fearless cowgirl sits at the centre of the action, attempting to remain on a furious bull as the multiplier climbs.

The arena is full of warm Western colour. Purple and orange skies stretch behind the broken fences, dust rises beneath the bull and the surrounding ranch provides enough depth to make the scene feel alive.

The bull becomes increasingly difficult to ignore as it bucks across the screen, and the rider's movements sell the idea that the round could end with the next violent jolt.

CrashBack fits the theme naturally. Re-entering feels like climbing back into the saddle for another attempt, allowing the feature to become part of the rodeo story rather than an isolated interface button.

Bucking Rider is charming, polished and exceptionally easy to watch. Play'n GO has once again created a crash game capable of standing beside its slots in terms of artwork, animation and personality.

Bucking Rider - Win Potential

Bucking Rider has an RTP of 96.7%, giving the game a theoretical house edge of 3.3%.

The volatility is high. Short rides can end close to 1.00x, while the larger returns require the cowgirl to remain on the bull through increasingly unlikely multiplier values.

The maximum multiplier is 5,000x. The game automatically concludes if the ride reaches this upper limit.

A maximum exposure of 50,000 applies to each round. The monetary cap can reduce the effective multiplier when the selected stake would otherwise produce a larger return.

Cash Out determines when the active return is secured. Earlier exits provide smaller payments more frequently, while remaining on the bull leaves everything accumulated so far exposed to the random stopping point.

CrashBack extends the financial decision beyond that first exit. Buying back into the ride creates access to the higher live multiplier, but the additional wager will lose if the rider is thrown before another collection.

Auto Cash Out settles the wager when the chosen target is reached. It can help apply a consistent instruction but cannot protect against the bull ending the journey below that value.

What we like

  • Superb rodeo artwork, animations and audio
  • CrashBack allows the player to re-enter the same ride after collecting.

What we don't like

  • The central mechanics are very similar to Miner Donkey Rider

The bottom line

4.8/5

Bucking Rider brings Play’n GO’s premium presentation to a beautifully realised rodeo setting. The Wild West soundtrack, sunset scenery and dusty arena give it plenty of character, while the betting and collection controls remain clear throughout the ride.

CrashBack adds a distinctive second decision by offering a return to the saddle after a successful cash-out. The mechanics closely follow Miner Donkey Rider, but the new theme is executed well enough to make revisiting them worthwhile. Charming and visually accomplished, Bucking Rider strengthens Play’n GO’s claim to have set a new benchmark for crash games.
