Ho Ho HODL Review

Released on 15th December 2021, Ho Ho HODL is Gaming Corps' Christmas-themed multiplayer crash game. Santa and his elves travel above a snowy town while the multiplier rises, leaving each player to collect before the sleigh disappears and ends the shared round.

Two betting panels allow separate wagers and collection points. A random Bonus Challenge can interrupt the journey, with a successful encounter awarding either a boost to the current multiplier or a free bet for the next flight.

Gaming Corps has published an RTP range of 95.31% to 97%. The multiplier can reach 10,000x, while the game also applies a total payout ceiling of 10,000.

How to play Ho Ho HODL

Ho Ho HODL opens a short betting window before Santa begins each journey. Choose a stake, place one or two wagers and decide whether to collect manually or set a target in advance.

  1. Choose the stake: Adjust the value on the first betting panel. Add the second panel if you want another wager with its own settings.

  2. Set a target if required: Auto Collect can be assigned a multiplier at which the wager will settle automatically.

  3. Place the bet: Press Place Bet before the sleigh departs. The wager becomes locked when the shared round starts.

  4. Follow Santa's journey: The multiplier increases as the sleigh crosses the night sky. Its stopping point is random and can arrive before any intended target.

  5. Collect the active return: Press Collect while the sleigh is still moving to receive the stake multiplied by the displayed value.

  6. Avoid being left behind: Any active wager loses if Santa disappears before it is collected. Settling one panel does not automatically settle the other.

Auto Bet can repeat the chosen amount for a set number of journeys. Auto Collect follows a predefined exit point, while manual collection remains available during the flight.

The two panels can use different values and targets. They provide flexibility within a shared round but do not generate separate stopping points, so both active bets lose if the sleigh disappears before either has been collected.

A creature can appear during the flight and begin a Bonus Challenge against Santa and the elves. The encounter may finish as a win, loss or draw, and more than one challenge can occur during a sufficiently long round.

A successful challenge awards a Multiplier Boost or a Free Bet. The boost adds a random percentage to the current multiplier after the encounter, while the free bet carries the qualifying stake value into the following round.

The reward does not guarantee a payout. The active wager still needs to be collected before the sleigh disappears, and the round can end while a challenge is in progress.

Community statistics show the wagers and collection points of other players participating in the same journey. Recent results supply a record of completed rounds without revealing when the next flight will finish.

Ho Ho HODL - Design

Ho Ho HODL has genuine festive charm. Santa's sleigh, the bundled-up elves and the snow-covered town create a recognisable Christmas scene, while the dark blue sky gives the bright characters and multiplier room to stand out.

The seasonal theme extends beyond a static background. Santa and the elves travel together, the sleigh moves through the night and the challenge encounter adds a burst of activity during longer flights.

Our favourite detail arrives when a wager is collected. The elves jump from the sleigh, echoing the pilot's ejection in Jet Lucky 2.

The game uses colour effectively. Reds, greens and warm lights pull the eye towards the sleigh, while the snowy town remains subdued enough that it does not compete with the active multiplier.

The soundtrack and effects support the seasonal mood without overwhelming the repeated decision. Sleigh movement, challenge cues and collection feedback make the round easy to follow even when attention is divided between two panels.

Those panels sit beneath the main flight, with the community display placed to the side on desktop. The interface is busier than Skyliner's, but the Collect controls remain large and each potential return is clearly attached to the correct wager.

The theme naturally feels more appropriate in December than in the middle of the year. Its appeal may fade once the festive novelty wears off, particularly because the underlying journey repeats without permanent changes.

Even with that seasonal limitation, we found Ho Ho HODL much more personable than many Christmas crash reskins.

Ho Ho HODL - Win Potential

Ho Ho HODL has a published RTP range of 95.31% to 97%. The precise theoretical return depends on how the game and collection strategy are configured, so the information panel should be checked in the casino's version.

At the upper end, 97% is a competitive return for a crash game. The 95.31% lower end produces a larger house edge and is less attractive, particularly when the same provider offers higher-return configurations elsewhere.

The maximum multiplier is 10,000x. A total payout ceiling of 10,000 also applies, which means stakes above 1 reach the cap before the full multiplier can be paid.

Multiplier Boosts can lift the current value after a successful challenge, and a Free Bet supplies a wager on the next round at the previous stake. Neither reward can be selected or forced, and the qualifying round may still end before collection.

Recent multiplier history and other players' exits do not indicate what Santa will do next. Auto Collect follows a chosen instruction accurately if the sleigh reaches it, but cannot increase the probability of doing so.

The bonus activity makes the route to a return less uniform than a basic crash game. Mathematically, however, the central choice remains the same: collect the available value or leave the entire active bet at risk for another moment.

What we like

  • Who doesn't love Christmas?
  • Random Bonus Challenges can award a multiplier increase or a free bet

What we don't like

  • The lower RTP of 95.31% is poor
  • Its theming means it has a somewhat narrow appeal

The bottom line

4.6/5

Ho Ho HODL brings plenty of festive personality to Gaming Corps’ familiar crash format. Its snowy night, lively sleigh and comic elves create a warm seasonal atmosphere, while watching the elves leap out when a bet is collected gives the cash-out action a memorable touch. Multiplier boosts and free bets through the Bonus Challenge add welcome changes of pace during longer flights.

The RTP can fall to a disappointing 95.31%, and the Christmas setting may lose some appeal outside the festive period. Ho Ho HODL does not reinvent Gaming Corps’ collect-or-continue formula, but it has been made with enough charm and affection to feel like more than a disposable seasonal reskin.
