Released on 27th August 2021, Save the Hamster follows Tom, an ambitious hamster with dreams of flying to the stars. A succession of unusual aircraft carries him above the woodland as the multiplier rises, leaving players to collect their return before an obstacle brings the journey to an end.

Hungry birds, falling stones and dangerous toads can all stop Tom’s flight. The multiplier begins at 1.00x and can reach 1,000x, although some rounds finish immediately at zero before a collection becomes possible.

Two independently controlled betting positions allow different stakes and collection points to be used during the same journey. Auto Cash Out, scheduled automatic betting, chat, histories and a Top-100 list provide the supporting controls and multiplayer features.

How to play Save the Hamster

Save the Hamster is a multiplayer crash game played across synchronised rounds. Set the stake and submit the wager during the countdown before Tom’s next flight. Evoplay’s official product sheet lists bets from 1 to 750, although the limits offered by an individual casino can differ.

  1. Choose the stake: Enter the amount to wager using the controls beneath the main game window.

  2. Place the bet: Press Bet before the countdown reaches zero. Wagers can also be prepared for the next flight while the current journey is still active.

  3. Watch Tom take off: The multiplier begins at 1.00x and rises as Tom travels higher in his latest flying contraption.

  4. Collect the return: Press Cash Out while Tom remains airborne. The wager finishes and returns the stake multiplied by the value reached at the time of collection.

  5. Avoid the obstacle: A bird, falling object, toad or failed aircraft can end the round. Any position that has not already been collected loses its stake and accumulated value.

  6. Reach the limit: Save the Hamster has a maximum multiplier of 1,000x. Active positions that reach this ceiling are subject to the game and casino’s maximum payout rules.

Some rounds end immediately at zero. These provide no opportunity to collect, including when an automatic target has been selected. A previous sequence of instant or lengthy flights has no influence over the next result.

Save the Hamster supports two wagers during the same round. Each panel accepts a separate stake and can be collected at a different time. Both positions follow Tom’s flight and are exposed to the same final multiplier.

The second panel provides another collection decision rather than a separate game result. Opening it increases the total amount committed to the round and does not protect either position against an early crash.

Auto Cash Out collects the associated wager if Tom reaches a multiplier chosen in advance. Common versions allow automatic collection from 1.10x, while manual collection becomes available once the multiplier has moved beyond its starting point.

The Auto Bet controls can repeat the chosen stake for a selected number of rounds. Common versions include several preset round totals, with each betting position able to use its own settings. The sequence can be stopped manually.

The information panel contains All Bets, My Bets and Top 100 sections. All Bets displays multiplayer activity from the current round, My Bets records personal results and Top 100 highlights leading collections.

Chat uses prepared phrases and reactions rather than unrestricted messages in commonly available versions. Both the chat and information panels can be collapsed when more screen space is needed for Tom and the active controls.

The aircraft and obstacles form part of the presentation. None provides a stated mathematical advantage or warning about the generated finishing multiplier.

The vertical flight works naturally on mobile screens, with Tom occupying the centre and the main betting controls positioned underneath. Histories, settings and social features remain accessible through secondary panels.

Save the Hamster - Design

Save the Hamster begins in a colourful woodland populated by Tom and the animals determined to interrupt his journey. The action then moves upwards through the trees and into the sky as the multiplier increases.

Tom is immediately likeable. His round design, eager expressions and improbable commitment to reaching the stars give the game a central character worth following. He looks cheerfully unprepared for the dangers ahead.

The selection of flying contraptions adds further personality. Tom can appear with different improvised devices rather than repeating one identical aircraft during every journey.

Birds, falling stones and toads provide several visual conclusions. Each obstacle communicates the failed result clearly, while the different interruptions prevent every flight from ending in exactly the same fashion.

The animation is a substantial improvement over Long Ball and Mary’s Mining Mania. Failed rounds have enough visual payoff to feel like part of the story rather than a basic reset. Evoplay definitely makes better use of its game's main character here than it does with Mary during her comparatively restrained mine-cart descent.

The music is another welcome improvement. Its light, energetic tone fits Tom’s cheerful personality and makes the woodland adventure feel cohesive. Where the soundtrack in Mary’s Mining Mania often works against the setting, Save the Hamster’s music strengthens it.

Sound effects accompany take-off, movement and the appearance of obstacles. The cues make the state of each round understandable without competing with the soundtrack, while the audio can still be reduced or disabled through the settings.

The central multiplier remains prominent throughout the flight. Tom and his aircraft occupy enough of the screen to carry the theme, but the amount currently available from each active position is still easy to identify.

Two betting panels, multiplayer histories and chat create a busy desktop interface when everything is open. Collapsing the social panels gives the flight more room and makes the two Cash Out buttons easier to monitor.

The vertical journey is particularly well suited to phones. Tom has a clear route through the centre of a portrait display, while the betting controls remain within reach below.

Save the Hamster does not transform the crash genre, but it demonstrates how much difference a likeable character, suitable music and expressive animation can make.

Save the Hamster - Win Potential

Evoplay’s official product sheet lists an RTP of 96%, equivalent to a theoretical house edge of 4%.

The maximum multiplier is 1,000x. Evoplay lists a maximum monetary return of 750,000, although an individual casino can apply a lower payout ceiling.

Official betting limits range from 1 to 750. Opening the second panel allows another wager within those limits to be placed on the same flight.

Save the Hamster can crash immediately at zero. At the other end of the range, reaching 1,000x is an exceptionally rare result. Most collection decisions take place well between these two extremes.

Choosing an early Auto Cash Out target produces more frequent opportunities to collect a comparatively small return. Waiting for a higher multiplier succeeds less often and exposes the full wager for longer. The collection point changes the distribution of outcomes without improving the RTP.

The 1,000x ceiling is relatively modest beside crash games advertising five-figure or higher maximums. Its accompanying 750,000 payout limit is substantial enough for the complete multiplier to remain accessible across much of the official betting range.

Automatic betting, dual positions and consecutive short rounds can increase the amount wagered quickly. A fixed overall budget and round limit give a clearer view of spending than adjusting the stake after an unsuccessful flight.

Is Save the Hamster Provably Fair?

Save the Hamster includes post-round validation information in commonly available builds. Current walkthroughs of the live game describe a player-facing process using SHA-256 hash data to check completed flights.

A completed result can be opened through the wager history to access its validation information. The supplied data can be processed using SHA-256 and compared with the hash attached to the round. Matching values show that the revealed information corresponds with the recorded result.

This verification takes place after Tom’s flight has ended. The hash cannot reveal the next finishing multiplier or identify which obstacle will appear.

Bet histories and the Top-100 list serve a separate purpose. They record wagers, collections and leading results, but they cannot prove fairness without the accompanying cryptographic validation data.

Save the Hamster can consequently be described as provably fair when the casino offers the original Evoplay build with its SHA-256 verification tools.

What we like

  • Tom, the changing aircraft and music give the game a pleasant and cohesive identity
  • Two independently controlled wagers support different stakes
  • Post-round verification, detailed histories and a Top-100 list are all great additions

What we don't like

  • A maximum multiplier of 1,000x is relatively modest

The bottom line

4.1/5

Save the Hamster makes a much warmer impression than Long Ball or Mary’s Mining Mania. Tom’s enthusiasm, improvised aircraft and frequent mishaps give the game immediate personality, while the smooth animation, woodland setting and fitting music create a coherent world. Two betting panels and configurable Auto Cash Out settings offer useful flexibility, and the busier social panels can be collapsed to give the flight more space.

Its 96% RTP is serviceable rather than exceptional, while the 1,000x maximum looks modest beside many modern crash games. Instant crashes at zero can also prevent even low automatic targets from activating, and the woodland ascent eventually becomes repetitive despite changing aircraft and obstacles. Even so, Save the Hamster has the strongest all-round presentation of the Evoplay crash games we have reviewed, proving that charm and a character worth supporting can elevate familiar mechanics.
