Spaceman review

Released in March 2022, Spaceman was Pragmatic Play’s first entry into the crash-game category. Each round follows a cartoon astronaut as he climbs through a colourful space scene and carries an increasing multiplier with him. Cashing out applies the current multiplier to your stake, while waiting until the astronaut’s journey ends results in the active bet being lost.

The basic idea will be familiar to anyone who has played Aviator, but Spaceman introduces more flexibility around when and how you collect. Alongside manual and automatic cash-outs, the 50% Auto Cashout feature allows half of the bet to be collected at a chosen multiplier while the remaining half continues. This creates a useful middle ground between ending the entire bet early and leaving everything exposed in pursuit of a larger return.

Live statistics, leaderboards and detailed game histories give Spaceman a busier, multiplayer atmosphere, although the decisions and results of other players do not affect your own bet. Combined with its 5,000x maximum multiplier and straightforward controls, these additions help Pragmatic Play’s debut crash game feel accessible without reducing every round to a single all-or-nothing decision.

How to play Spaceman

Spaceman takes place across shared, real-time rounds. While the countdown displays Next Game In, choose your stake using the main bet field or quick-bet controls, then press Confirm Bet. You can adjust or undo the wager until Bets Closed appears. Look for the Bet Accepted message to confirm that your stake has been entered into the round.

1. Watch the multiplier: Every round begins at 1.00x. The multiplier increases as the astronaut travels through space, starting slowly before gathering speed.

2. Choose when to collect: Press Cashout before the astronaut crashes to apply the current multiplier to your active stake. If the round ends before the request is processed, any amount still in play is lost. A crash can occur immediately at 1.00x.

3. Split the bet if preferred: Selecting Cashout 50% collects the return from half of your stake while leaving the other half active. You can then press the standard Cashout button later to collect the remainder at a different multiplier. This gives each bet two possible exit points instead of one.

Auto Cashout can also be set before the round begins. Enter a target multiplier and the game will automatically collect the active bet if that value is reached. The separate 50% Auto Cashout setting does the same for half of the stake, although its target must be lower than the full Auto Cashout value when both are enabled.

Autoplay can repeat these instructions across a selected number of rounds, but it does not influence the predetermined crash point. Any stake still active when the multiplier reaches its 5,000x ceiling is paid automatically.

Spaceman - design

Spaceman places its animated astronaut at the centre of a vivid purple galaxy, surrounded by planets, stars and other cosmic details. The character’s rounded, robot-like design gives the game a friendly appearance, with small dances, waves and heart gestures adding personality between rounds. Once the multiplier begins to rise, his movement through space provides a clear visual indication that the game is active.

The wider interface contains far more information than the central animation. Betting and cash-out controls sit beneath the main action, recent multipliers remain visible along the bottom, and separate panels provide access to statistics, game history, chat and the live leaderboard. It can look busy when first opened, but the brightly coloured Cashout buttons stand out clearly against the darker background. The layout also adapts for mobile screens, and players can disable most of the animation through the settings menu for a simpler view.

Audio plays a supporting role rather than dominating each round. A robotic countdown introduces the launch, while short effects accompany the astronaut’s movement and the rising multiplier. The game opens muted by default, with volume controls available for anyone who wants the full presentation.

Spaceman - Win Potential

Spaceman can reach a maximum multiplier of 5,000x the stake. Any bet still active when this point is reached is paid automatically, although the maximum return is limited to whichever comes first: 5,000x or 500,000 in the player’s chosen currency. This is a considerable ceiling, but the multiplier can also crash immediately at 1.00x, resulting in the full active bet being lost.

Pragmatic Play’s game sheet lists a theoretical RTP of 95.50%, which equates to a 4.50% house edge. This percentage is calculated across a large number of rounds and cannot predict the result of an individual bet or playing session.

Spaceman does not have a selectable volatility setting. Instead, your chosen cash-out point changes the pattern of possible returns. Collecting at a lower multiplier creates more opportunities to secure smaller amounts, while aiming higher leads to fewer successful exits but much larger potential payouts.

The 50% Cashout feature offers a middle ground by allowing half of the stake to leave at one multiplier and the remainder to continue, although neither manual nor automatic cash-out settings can change the predetermined crash point.

Is Spaceman Provably Fair?

Yes, Spaceman uses provably fair mechanics. The crash multiplier is randomly predetermined before each round and can be checked afterwards against the recorded game data, providing evidence that the result was not changed once betting began. This transparency does not reveal future crash points, improve the RTP or make previous results useful for predicting the next round.
