BalloonX Review

Released on 11th May 2026, BalloonX is a multiplayer crash game from SmartSoft Gaming. It follows the studio’s earlier Balloon, expanding the concept into a shared game with up to four betting panels.

A balloon inflates as the multiplier increases, changing colour along the way. Each active wager can be collected separately before the balloon bursts, allowing players to use different stakes and exit points within the same round.

SmartSoft publishes a headline RTP of 97.05%. The in-game rules specify an RTP range of 96.50%–99.30%, depending on the cash-out multiplier, and a maximum multiplier of 25,000x.

How to play BalloonX

  1. Choose your stakes: Use the arrows or swipe through the available amounts on each betting panel, checking the casino’s minimum and maximum limits.

  2. Decide how many panels to use: Place anything from one to four wagers. Each panel has its own stake and collection control.

  3. Confirm during the countdown: Press Bet on each panel you want to use before the betting period ends.

  4. Follow the inflation: The balloon expands automatically while the multiplier rises. There is no difficulty level to select or manual pumping action.

  5. Collect each wager separately: Press the relevant Collect button before the balloon bursts. The return is the stake multiplied by the collection value, subject to the applicable cap.

  6. Understand what the burst loses: Any wager still active when the balloon pops is lost. Returns already collected from other panels remain settled.

The four panels are the main addition. They let you make several separate collection decisions during one round, although you can leave unused panels alone or reduce the display to two.

Each panel needs its own collection instruction. There is no single Collect All button, which matters when you want to close several wagers in quick succession.

A live player table shows wagers and collection results, while history and statistics provide records of completed rounds. Daily, weekly and monthly rankings add a wider view of player results. None of this information predicts when the next balloon will burst.

BalloonX - Design

An inflating balloon is a very good fit for a crash game. You understand the tension immediately: it keeps getting bigger, and at some point it is going to pop. The theme needs very little explanation, which is useful in a game built around one repeating decision.

We are also pleased to see SmartSoft give the aircraft a rest. JetX has been a defining release for the studio, but that does not mean every new game needs wings. Returning to Balloon gives the developer another recognisable theme to work with.

The presentation is bright and uncomplicated. A glossy balloon dominates the blue play area, with its string trailing away and the multiplier displayed prominently over the action. As the balloon grows, its colour moves from yellow towards deeper pink. That change gives longer rounds a little visual progression without making the screen difficult to read.

It is an effective image, though we would not call the overall design revolutionary. Most of the visual interest comes from the same object expanding. There is less to discover here than in games that introduce new scenery, characters or events as a round develops.

The controls use large buttons and straightforward labels, a sensible approach for a game also designed for phones and tablets. On desktop, player activity sits alongside the balloon, while the betting panels occupy the area beneath it. Separate settings are available for background music and sound effects.

BalloonX’s appeal ultimately comes from how naturally its theme suits the action. We like the uncomfortable spectacle of a balloon becoming increasingly overfilled, even if the surrounding presentation rarely surprises us. It is a neat concept, presented clearly, with the extra betting panels doing most of the work to distinguish it.

BalloonX - Win Potential

The published 97.05% RTP corresponds to a theoretical house edge of 2.95%. However, the in-game rules give a broader range of 96.50%–99.30%, equivalent to a house edge of 3.50%–0.70%.

The rules associate the highest return with the lowest possible cash-out multiplier. That upper figure should therefore not be treated as a blanket RTP for every collection approach. All of these percentages describe long-term mathematical returns, rather than what an individual player should expect from a session.

BalloonX can reach 25,000x, at which point the rules specify automatic collection. There is also a separate maximum payment per bet. A monetary cap can limit the return before the multiplier reaches its ceiling, especially when playing with a larger stake.

The four panels provide flexibility over stakes and collection points; they do not improve the underlying RTP. Every active panel follows the same balloon, so additional wagers do not create independent round outcomes.

What we like

  • Four betting panels allow separate stakes and collection decisions within the same round.
  • The expanding, colour-changing balloon gives the crash mechanic an immediately understandable theme.
  • Live player results and time-based rankings give the shared rounds a visible community element.

What we don't like

  • The absence of a Collect All button makes closing several active wagers less convenient.
  • Visual variety is largely limited to the balloon growing and changing colour.

The bottom line

4/5

BalloonX’s four betting panels are its strongest feature, giving players more choice over when to collect without making the basic game difficult to understand. We also like the theme. An increasingly overfilled balloon captures the tension of a crash round perfectly, and it is welcome variety from the studio behind JetX.

The presentation is less adventurous than the extra panels might suggest, and having to collect every wager separately is a missed opportunity when four can be active. Still, BalloonX develops the original Balloon concept in a worthwhile way. Its flexible betting layout gives it a reason to return, even if watching something inflate will only take the spectacle so far.

The multiplier can reach 25,000x, triggering automatic collection. A separate maximum payment per bet also applies, so check the casino’s monetary cap alongside its stake limits.
