CricketX Review

Released on 13 March 2025, CricketerX is a multiplayer crash game from SmartSoft Gaming. It is a separate release from the studio’s older CricketX, arriving ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League season.

The action follows a cricket ball on an increasingly ambitious flight, with the multiplier rising until an explosion ends the round. Players can place two separate wagers and collect each at a different point, either manually or through an automatic collection target.

CricketerX has a maximum multiplier of 25,000x and an RTP range of 96.7%–98.8%. The highest theoretical return is associated with the lowest available cash-out multiplier.

CricketerX - Design

CricketerX has fantastic artwork. That was our strongest impression, and it is the clearest reason this game stands apart from the more forgettable sports releases we have reviewed. The animation gives the action a sense of occasion, making us feel involved in the spectacle even though our actual input remains a collection decision.

The setting helps enormously. The cricket ground sits against a detailed skyline, with floodlights, warm-toned buildings and broad, painterly clouds giving the scene depth. There is a world around the ball, and that makes the sporting theme feel properly considered.

Once the ball climbs, the backdrop moves from blue sky towards a dark field of stars. The red-and-white ball remains easy to follow, with a visible trail emphasising its movement. Cricket leaves realism behind fairly quickly, but the exaggerated journey suits a multiplier that can climb far beyond an ordinary score.

We particularly like how that progression gives the flight somewhere to go. The scenery changes with the action, so the presentation contributes to the anticipation instead of leaving the growing number to do all the work. It is exactly the sort of effort we want from a sports-themed crash game.

Our reviews of GoalX and Long Ball criticised their limited animation and underdeveloped sporting atmosphere. CricketerX comfortably outclasses both on presentation. The difference comes through in the artwork, movement and attention paid to the setting, rather than simply having a more elaborate title screen.

The interface is more restrained. A large green multiplier sits over the action, the two betting panels occupy the space below, and player statistics sit alongside the main window on desktop. Bright yellow betting buttons stand out against the dark surrounding panels. Ultimately, the practical information remains easy to identify.

CricketerX supports phones and tablets through a responsive presentation. The prominent multiplier and clearly separated betting controls suit that approach, although managing two wagers naturally demands more attention than using one. Separate music and sound controls allow players to adjust the audio without affecting the game.

Like most crash games out there, there is still repetition underneath the polish. Each round returns to the same basic flight, and the cricket theme supplies spectacle rather than additional sporting decisions. Different shot sequences or more variation in the opening action would give repeated rounds further character. Even so, we have very little to fault in the execution of the concept that is here.

We also appreciate the release timing. Launching shortly before the 2025 IPL season gave the cricket theme a relevant moment to arrive. It is a small editorial detail, perhaps, but it reinforces the impression that someone thought about the audience as well as the multiplier.

CricketerX - Win Potential

CricketerX’s RTP ranges from 96.7% to 98.8%, corresponding to a theoretical house edge of 3.3% to 1.2%. The rules associate the highest RTP with the lowest possible collection multiplier, so 98.8% should not be treated as the return for every cash-out target.

RTP describes a long-term mathematical expectation across extensive play. It does not promise a particular return from one session, and choosing a low target does not eliminate losing rounds.

The multiplier can reach 25,000x, triggering automatic collection. A separate monetary payment cap also applies per bet.

There are no selectable difficulty levels that alter multiplier growth. The main risk decision is how long to keep each wager active. Waiting allows a larger potential return to develop but also gives the round more opportunity to end before collection. The ball can explode before the minimum 1.01x collection point becomes available.

Auto Collect removes the need to submit a manual collection request at the chosen target. It cannot make that target more likely to arrive or rescue a wager after an earlier crash.

Two betting panels provide separate stakes and exit points without improving the underlying RTP. Both follow the same flight, and using both increases the total amount exposed if you add a second stake.

The changing scenery, ball movement and displayed histories provide no reliable warning of the finishing multiplier. Other players’ collection decisions and leaderboard results cannot predict it either. Cricket knowledge, timing systems, bots and predictors cannot guarantee a profit.

What we like

  • Detailed artwork and animated scenery make the cricket theme feel fully developed.
  • Two betting panels allow separate stakes and collection targets during the same flight.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly statistics provide several ways to explore completed player results.

What we don't like

  • A separate payment cap can restrict returns well below the headline 25,000x potential.

The bottom line

4.4/5

CricketerX is one of the strongest examples we have seen of a sports theme being given the attention it deserves. The artwork is excellent, the animation draws us into the action, and the journey from cricket ground to stars gives the familiar crash format real personality. After the disappointments of GoalX and Long Ball, this is much closer to what we wanted.

Its main limitation is that the mechanics are considerably more familiar than the presentation, while the separate payment cap qualifies that attractive 25,000x headline. Still, we would happily return for the execution alone. SmartSoft has taken a straightforward idea and made it entertaining to watch, with considerably more ambition than simply putting a ball on screen.
