High Flyer review

Released in September 2024, High Flyer was the third addition to Pragmatic Play’s crash-game collection, following Spaceman and Big Bass Crash. A passenger plane travels along the runway and takes to the sky while the multiplier rises from 1.00x. Cashing out applies the current value to your stake, but waiting until the plane flies off results in your money leaving with it!

High Flyer’s differentiates itself with its use of two independent bet spots. Each one can carry its own stake and Auto Cashout target, allowing one bet to be collected early while the other remains in pursuit of a larger multiplier. Unlike the 50% Cashout feature in Spaceman and Big Bass Crash, this involves placing two separate wagers rather than dividing a single stake.

The supporting features will be familiar to anyone who has played Pragmatic Play’s previous crash releases. Live chat, leaderboards, recent results and statistics from the last 500 rounds give the game a multiplayer atmosphere, while Autoplay can repeat a chosen setup. High Flyer is visually less adventurous than its predecessors, but its 97% RTP and enormous 1,000,000x maximum multiplier make it one of the strongest crash games on offer from Pragmatic Play.

How to Play High Flyer

High Flyer is played through shared, real-time rounds with only five seconds between flights. While Next Game In is displayed, select your stake using the main betting field or quick-bet controls and press Confirm Bet. Bets can be changed or cancelled until Bets Closed appears. A second betting panel can be enabled through the settings menu if you want to place two wagers in the same round.

1. Follow the flight: Every round begins at 1.00x. The plane travels along the runway and takes off as the multiplier increases. The flight can end at any moment, including immediately at 1.00x.

2. Collect your return: Press Cashout before the plane flies off to receive the active stake multiplied by the value shown when the request is processed. High Flyer operates in real time, so leaving the decision until the final moment creates a risk that the flight will end before the request reaches the game server.

3. Use two bet spots: Each panel operates independently, with its own stake, Cashout button and automatic settings. You could collect one bet at a lower multiplier and leave the second in play for longer, although placing two bets also increases the total amount committed to the round.

4. Set an automatic target: Auto Cashout can be activated during the betting period at a value between 1.01x and 100x. If the plane reaches that multiplier, the associated bet is collected automatically. You can still cash out manually at a lower point once the round has started.

Autoplay repeats the selected stake and Auto Cashout instructions across multiple rounds. Depending on the casino and local rules, additional stop conditions may be available for changes in balance or the size of a single return. Previous results and charts can help you understand the range of outcomes produced by the game, but they cannot reveal when the next flight will end.

High Flyer - Design

High Flyer takes a more restrained approach to its aviation theme than Spaceman. A passenger plane starts stationary before taking off from the bottom of the screen, with the multiplier displayed prominently above the action. As the flight continues, the background cycles through different colours.

The uncluttered central scene is balanced by a busier collection of controls and statistics. Betting panels appear beneath the runway on desktop, recent results remain visible along the bottom, and separate tabs provide access to bets, personal history, top wins and charts covering the last 500 rounds. Activating the second bet spot takes up additional room, but the separate Cashout buttons are large enough to remain easy to distinguish.

Mobile play retains the main betting controls and flight animation, although there is naturally less space for the surrounding statistics. These are moved behind a separate menu rather than being shown alongside the action. Players can also switch off most animations through the settings if they prefer a simpler, more static view.

Bland background music accompanies gameplay and truthfully doesn't add much. All in all High Flyer boasts a polished presentation, albeit a bit boring. The game feels significantly less distinctive than Pragmatic Play’s astronaut or Big Bass fisherman.

High Flyer - Win Potential

High Flyer can reach a maximum multiplier of 1,000,000x the stake, placing it far above the 5,000x ceilings offered by Spaceman and Big Bass Crash. Any active bet is paid automatically when it reaches 1,000,000x or when its potential return reaches 250,000, or the equivalent amount in the player’s chosen currency.

That cash limit is important when considering the headline multiplier. Larger stakes will reach the maximum monetary payout long before completing the theoretical one-million-times journey. The game can also end immediately at 1.00x, causing your bet to be lost immediately.

High Flyer has an RTP of 97%, which equates to a 3% house edge. This is a noticeable improvement over Pragmatic Play’s earlier crash releases and competitive with several of the category’s best-known games. RTP is calculated across a very large number of bets and provides no indication of what will happen during a particular flight or playing session.

Targeting lower multipliers creates more opportunities to collect smaller returns, while remaining in the round for longer produces fewer successful cash-outs with much larger potential values. The two bet spots allow different targets to be used simultaneously, but both wagers face the same predetermined crash point and neither changes the game’s underlying house edge.
